Ford Mustang GTD 2025, with an impressive 815 hp, became the first American production car to complete the Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany in under seven minutes, with a time of 6:57.685.

The achievement was made by driver Dirk Müller, who faced challenging weather conditions on the track known as “The Green Hell“. Despite this milestone, Ford believes the GTD can achieve even better times and plans new attempts next year.

The Nürburgring, one of the most demanding circuits in the world, combines narrow tracks, complex corners, and unpredictable weather, making it a benchmark for supercar performance testing.

The GTD now holds the fifth position among the fastest production sports cars on the track, surpassing models like the Porsche 911 GT3, but still behind more powerful and modified versions, such as the GT2 RS with the Manthey Performance Kit.

Developed over two years by a team led by Greg Goodall, the Mustang GTD was designed as a supercar inspired by the GT3 racing model. Although the initial goal of breaking the seven-minute barrier was achieved, Ford continues to focus on extracting even more performance from this exclusive model, which combines extreme power and an estimated price of $325,000.
